Sew Crafty is the coolest place ever for crafty types – and people who want to learn to craft – here in Houston! It is Houston’s first craft studio and sewing lounge. Located in the Houston Heights, Sew Crafty offers classes in sewing, knitting, kids crafts and DIY workshops to give everyone from beginners to super crafters the chance to learn new skills and have a blast!

I took a sewing class from Sew Crafty awhile back, and in a matter of hours I went from never having touched a sewing machine to making my very own cute crafting apron. It was such an incredible, well laid out, informative class! Once I work my way through all of my knitting projects, I plan to go back for more sewing classes so I can create some of their other projects as well!

Look at what all they offer!

  • Classes in sewing (beginner to advanced), knitting (beginner/intermediate) and Crochet
  • Workshops in everything from Gocco printing to quick-and-easy DIY projects to repurposing T-Shirts – each time something new is featured
  • Special events, like the monthly Crafty Cocktails – an evening of craftacular sophistication and socializing
  • Crafting for a Cause – your chance to give back to those in need and take a free class to boot!
  • A sewing lounge where you can use our machines, supplies and cutting tables to work on your projects
  • A well-edited selection of patterns, craft kits, notions, fabrics, yarn and handmade gifts
  • Private parties for your girls night out, baby and bridal showers, and kids parties

Their sewing lounge is divine! The upstairs room has the biggest cutting table area I’ve ever seen, ironing boards, sewing machines, and all the supplies you might need organized in one spot. Don’t want to set up a room in your home just for sewing? No problem! Sew Crafty has you covered!

Sarah is one of the fabulous ladies behind Sew Crafty, and I’m so glad we got to spend some time together photographing the shop and then sneaking out before the rain started to get some photographs of her as well!

Be sure to keep an eye on the Sew Crafty Blog for all the latest news, check out the class schedule, and sign up for their newsletter, because you really don’t want to miss what is going on here!

Want to see YOUR business featured here? Buy a Session! Best part? For all sessions booked between August 30th & September 10th, 15% of the session fee will be donated towards the SLGT & Habitat for Humanity Home Build! Yes – you CAN book the $70-125 sessions still, so this is one of the best deals in town! What are you waiting for?
