Active Pets Houston is a network of pet owners dedicated to helping their pets lead healthier, more active lives. Yes, you do need to worry about your pets leading an active life for their health. So their goal is to help you find ways to do that!

There is no charge to join the group, and you can find out about a variety of pet activities happening throughout the Houston area, such as Fun runs that are animal friendly and support pet-related non-profits and the newest dog park to open in town. I had no idea that there are over 20 dog parks in Houston, with a variety of activities available, ranging from swimming ponds & agility equipment to walking trails.

The site isn’t all about dogs though; there is information there for cat owners too! Learn about the latest toys to hit the market and other activities you can do to help keep your cat healthy as well.

You can also share your pet pictures, connect with trainers to help your animals out with their needs, and learn about pet nutrition.

Christy Bergeon, featured in the photographs here, is the driving force behind Active Pets Houston. I joined her and her dogs for a fun filled photo shoot. (For the record, it is hard to get one human and two dogs to look at you at the same time! Especially active dogs like hers, that are far more interested in what is going on all around us!)

It is a wonderful resource for pet owners throughout Houston, helping you to find organized activities to participate in and places to go, and your pet will definitely thank you for it! Be sure to check it out and sign up!
